Sauteed Tilapia with Bell Pepper

With simple ingredients, you can turn a tilapia fillet into a tasty healthy meal. This sauteed tilapia with bell pepper is very easy and fast to prepare.

Ingredients

Salt and pepper

2 cloves of garlic

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

4 skinless tilapia fillets (about 1 1/4 pounds), patted dry

2 bell peppers, diced

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

How to prepare

  • In a large nonstick skillet, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Season the fish with salt, onion powder and pepper, add to the pan and cook, turning once, until golden-brown or well cooked 5-8 minutes. Set aside in oven to keep warm.
  • To the same skillet, add onions and garlic and sauté 1 minute. Add the bell peppers and sauté until softened, 3-5 minutes
  • Stir in lemon juice and add salt and pepper to taste. Return fish to pan and stir to coat with sauce and vegetable.
